'We are all just walking each other home'
-Ram Das -
Welcome to my website - I'm Myca, a yoga teacher, mentor and artist.
I teach the transformative value of yoga, meditation and creativity, because these practices are capable of helping us to profoundly heal ourselves and the world we live in.
I know this from experience - having lived an adult life filled with hospital admissions and being told by doctors that I was incurable - a vulnerable person with a lifelong disability.
Yet one day I experienced an awakening and my life changed in a way that no medical expert thought was possible. Within a few months I had come off all prescription medication, lost 6 stone in weight, and it was clear that I had undergone what many would term a "miracle recovery".
This led me to train as a spiritual counsellor, immersing myself fully in intensive yogic study for three years and qualifying as a yoga teacher. My greatest learning has come from the yoga mat, from my dedicated teachers and from time spent in India.
I am also creative in the field of spiritual art, some of which is exhibited here, as well as making yantras and soul plan yantras. I offer all of the above as bespoke services.
Training & Accreditation
My yoga training is Hatha based, having spent years under the guidance of Steve Harrison of the Yoga Sanctuary, Southampton, and then qualifying as an AYP yoga teacher (Advanced Yoga Practices) under the guidance of Tristan Dorling. This is how Tristan describes AYP yoga:
"Advanced Yoga Practices (AYP) is a full-scope system of yoga, formulated by the American yoga teacher Yogani. Integrating asana (posture) with pranayama and meditation, AYP covers all of the eight limbs of yoga. The system includes practices that can be taken on by people who are new to yoga and takes people all the way through, to gradually build up an advanced level yoga practice. The purification of the body and mind at the subtle level, brings the practitioner into an ecstatic state of living. It also creates a sense of peace and bliss, which are the cornerstones for the realisation of unity and divine love, the real fruits of yoga.
Many people ask if they are ready to take on full-scope yoga practice. The truth is that anyone who feels ready and has the desire to take these practices on, can do so. The techniques are not difficult to learn, all we need is the desire and dedication to learn them and allow them to transform our lives."
